This is true, it is a close toss up between Howls Moving Castle (which is a movie based on a book that was loosely based on another Studio Ghibli movie which i think was Laputa in the Sky) and Spirited Away.
Howls moving castle is a Japanese Anime and was released in 2004 and was loosely based off the book 'Howls Moving Castle' by Diana Wynne Jones.
