What is Social Media?

Social Media is a platform which allows their users to connect with people from across the world. These platforms allow a person to view, share and like content from a particular subject; wither that subject be from your favourite T.V. show, movie or book, to what your or others are currently up to.

INSTAGRAM: is an image based social media platform that allows you to follow other people as well as key words about a particular topic.

TUMBLR: is a blog style social media platform that allows their users to scroll through a blog page containing posts of those who they follow. Tumblr also allows their users to search specific topics as well.

FACEBOOK: is a place where one can keep people up to date with their live as well as keep tabs on others’ lives. It is also a place where one can keep up to date with the news and happening within the world.

Social Media Considerations/ Issues

SOCIAL: in a way this can be seen as a good things and a bad. In a way social media is a great way to say in touch with your friends and family; but it can also be a distraction when actually trying to hang out with friends and family. 

PRIVACY: some Social Media sites actually do a really good job at keeping your account private, but that can’t be said for those who you are friends. 

VAST WIDE WEB: there are too many choices, so easy to jump down a rabbit hole and not know where you end up or how you exactly got there.

What is Library 2.0?

Library 2.0 is a modernised version of social media, that encourages participation and is available at the click of a finger.
